It was a cool, rainy day, and the clouds above hung so low I felt I could reach out and touch them. As I slogged through the sand, I thought about my life and the challenges I faced. With each step I felt the weight of anxiety that traveled with me. Then, I noticed something shiny sticking out of the sand.
I reached down and pulled out a smooth, clear crystal with the word “lucky” lettered in silver. It stopped me in my tracks. A crystal in the sand polished by the sea? With the word lucky on it? Really? I wondered about the chances of finding such an extraordinary gift. I actually looked around expecting to see an angel.
That day I made a decision to form a powerful, new belief: I am the luckiest girl in the world. From that moment on, every time I saw or touched that crystal (and I carried it with me everywhere), I repeated this belief over and over in my head. It wasn’t long after that my life started to change.
We spend a good deal of time identifying and releasing the limiting beliefs that keep us stuck or frustrated in life. And this work is important. Equally important, are the beliefs we choose to install right now.
It’s pretty simple. Choose one sentence that represents something you want more of – a quality of character, for instance, or a positive condition in your life. Start with the words I am, I have, or I enjoy, and write this sentence down. Then, find an object that represents this new belief and let it serve as a reminder to repeat the statement over and over to yourself several times a day.
Finally, look for evidence. Watch for the subtlest sign that your belief is beginning to manifest in your life. It will. Just be patient and observant.
I’ve worked very hard to create the exceptional life I am blessed to experience today and I’ve also been the grateful recipient of a whole lot of luck. No doubt it’s because of one small decision made that day during a tough time. That’s what happens when you intentionally install new beliefs. You reap what you mentally sow.
What new belief will you choose? Feel free to share one with me on my Facebook page so we can all be inspired.

This week’s video brought me to tears. I found it on Dr. Chris Northrup’s Facebook page. Please take a few quiet moments to let it move you, too. You’ll find it here. Thanks, Chris!
