Irma Kaye Sawyer - Full Moon in Leo, 1.26.13 ~ Party on in Sacred Purpose

Hello friends. Well I’m pretty excited about this Full Moon. The Leo moon is associated with fun, magnetism, creativity and celebration. Physically it rules the Heart. Leo’s ruling planet is the Sun, which gives a Leo moon a unique flair; as it seems to represent a cosmic union of the yin/yang and divine masculine/feminine. I am honoring the evening in fine style by going to a rock show with some good friends. I know I’m not the only one who’s 2013 has started out with more than a tad bit of intensity. A Full Moon all about fun and friends sounds like some excellent medicine right about now. Also, the Sun is in Aquarius which is also a social sign that enjoys communicating and sharing ideas with others. Aquarius is also about brother/sisterhood and the bigger, cosmic picture. Spiritually this is a powerful time to not only play and enjoy but be open to spiritual illumination and creativity. I can tell already in this powerful Year of the Snake, we are going to need to pace ourselves and enjoy the recreation and high vibes when they are available.

Tuning into this moon it feels VERY bright to me, shining nearly as bright as the Sun. This tells me it is going to be exceptionally powerful and illuminating. The energies for the past two weeks especially have been rather intense, and many people have been feeling a bit dragged out, especially on a physical level. I feel these Lunar energies will bring in a revitalizing quality, especially when utilized in an intentional manner, and also a renewed faith.

Full Moon Message:

Beloveds, this is a great opportunity to shine bright and to stand in one’s own Light. Use the illuminating rays of the Leo Moon to heal your Hearts of all past grievances. This will create a space for greater love and sacredness to emerge in your lives. – The Keepers, 1.20.13

Just underneath the vibe of lightness and partying, there is something deeper going on, but not necessarily “heavy,” but definitely something to pay attention to.

Looking at the Sabian Symbols for the Leo Full Moon/Sun in Aquarius for 1.26.13:

Leo 8 A Bolshevik propagandist This is a symbol of the indomitable expectation of the human spirit as it gathers strength from the innermost reaches of man’s own or enduring nature, here emphasized by the recurrent battles over social and political concepts. The exceptional dynamic involved is seen in the selfless energy developed to an extreme by the revolutionists of each new age. Implicit in the reversed symbolism is the need of the human community for worthy cause to which to rally in every aspect of its potentials. The keyword is leaven. When positive, the degree is a determination to share the soul’s vision and to make a permanent impact on history, and when negative, futile ranting against a multitude of superficial ills.

Aquarius 8 Beautifully gowned wax figures This is a symbol of the ineradicable vanity of the human spirit as it gathers strength not only from the finery it wears but from a superficial display of woman’s form and man’s reputation, here emphasized through personal idealizations. A strong psychological dynamic for individual effort comes from the direct influence of outstanding and even notorious people, and implicit in the static symbolism of the waxworks is a necessity to recognize and identify the values worthy of emulation. The keyword is impact. When positive, the degree is achievement through the effective dramatization of human character on some level of everyday understanding, and when negative, futile effort to recapture outworn experience. – Marc Edmund Jones/Elsie Wheeler

This symbol speaks to us about the fire of passion and the intense hope that rises in our souls when we support a cause we truly believe in. The emphasis here is the selfless dedication to an ideology, especially when it includes the welfare of all. The greatest advantage lies in aligning oneself with the most worthy causes, in seeking the greatest good for all concerned. Implicit in this image is being a positive role model by demonstrating the highest virtues in practical every day living. Emulation is the first step in achieving the qualities one is seeking to bring about in oneself and the second is the determination to dramatize one’s beneficial qualities by taking a fresh look at oneself and to be able to improvise, rearrange, and experiment until one arrives at the image that truly represents who we are. Once we come to terms with our self, the direction and the reason for our sojourn in this life will become clear. As the picture of the real us is established during this full moon period, the energies will unfold and help us to define our sacred purpose in life. – Lincoln’s This and That Astrology

The other thing that comes to mind with these symbols is the potential hazard of “believing our own BS,” as the saying goes, and getting a bit too lost in personal dogmatism. Leo and Aquarius are both “fixed” signs, which like all fixed signs can “dig their heels in” and become intractable at times. There’s nothing like a bossy know-it-all to bring down the vibe at a good party.  On the higher side of these energies, there is a great potential to connect with and express our own deepest personal Truth. Just keeping in mind that sometimes the message is more easily heard when expressed by a soft voice than through a bullhorn.

Another thing that jumped out at me is the degrees of the Sun and Moon both being 8. Though 1.26.13 is a “6″ which relates to family, harmony and Universal Love (very Aquarian concepts I might add,) I feel the 8 is also worth noting, as it is a powerful number of manifestation.

With 8, everything seems to increase, and that usually means your responsibilities, your bank balance and your desire to be a success on all levels, your business, your relationships, everything. 8’s symbol is INFINITY, after all! But what this symbol also illustrates is the infinite flow of cause and effect, the boomerang flow of karma. So the experiences of today may indicate a karmic pattern that will give you sharp clarity about a situation. Often, the word karma sends off alarm bells but really 8’s energy is just about taking responsibility for one’s actions, and brings with it the awareness that your actions reverberate like ripples from the stone thrown in the lake. Indeed, the word responsibility adds up to an 8. – Rosalind Pape/Personal Mandalas

Leo Full Moon Mantras: When I let go and connect with others, I heal my heart. I allow myself to play and to shine. I release all of my burdens and rest in my own essence.

NOTE: The Full Moon in Leo is on 1/26 at 8:38 pm PST/11:38 pm EST.

Happy Full Moon friends and party on.
