There are 47 different calendars known to be in use on the planet. What a relief we don't anticipate the end of the world 47 times a year.
Our Gregorian calendar, also known as the Western or Christian calendar, has become the most widely used calendar of our time. Each year on December 31 we celebrate with ritual fireworks and festivities. The date marks the end and the count down to the beginning of its 365 day cycle. The time it takes for Earth to make a full trip around the Sun. Introduced by Pope Gregory XIII in 1582 our calendar is a reform of the Julian calendar, which was a reform of the Roman calendar, which originated from a lunar calendar, which is thought to have been based on one of the Greek calendars. Months have been removed. Days have been added, taken away and added again. Names of months have been changed. And changed again. We accept this, so we party on.
Most things from schools and stores to buses and bustling city roads temporarily shut down. Cellular networks jam from the sheer volume of loved ones attempting to connect with one another. We eat, drink, be merry and contemplate our personal resolutions. Imagine how we'd celebrate if this only happened once every 26,000 years?
Enter December 21, 2012. It's here. This week.
This Friday is the commonly known end date of the Great Cycle of the Mayan Calendar. It is a 26,000 year cycle documented by an ancient culture in sync with natural cycles. It is precisely timed when our solar system traverses the centre of the galaxy, amplifying the light frequencies streaming to {and through} us from our galactic centre.
Your presence at this present moment offers you a VIP pass to these amplified energies.
There will be celebrations around the world during December 21, 22 and 23 to welcome in the cosmic new year. This is a birth of a new paradigm. It is a time of a great shift. It is not an overnight transformation where we wake up the next day to a world we don't recognise. It is the opening of a gift, an opportunity to co-create a new way of being, one that; acknowledges our whole self {body, mind, emotions & spirit}, awakens us to our divine feminine {simultaneously honouring our divine masculine} and holds sacred the interconnectedness of all life. We are accessing a deeper awareness of our heart and entering a new stage in consciousness. We are shifting from being submerged under all we are not and emerging into all that we are.
Who wants to sleep through that?
Mainstream media not Mayan elders mock the date and dismiss its meaning, missing it's purpose, potential and possibility for humanity at this time. Use your own stream of intuition to uncover what resonates with you. If it feels good to acknowledge these dates and celebrate in your own way {whether with yourself, loved ones or others that are honouring this time}, then do it!
It's a once-in-a-26,000 year experience.
If you're finding your shadow amplifying the more you step up to your light, see last week's post to help gain more clarity on why.
Thank you for reading and wishes to you for a happy cosmic new year!
Shine on, Jelena x
