Pam Younghans – NorthPoint Astrology Journal : Your Guide To Planetary Energies For January 14-20

WE ARE PASSING through another “eye of the needle” with last week’s Uranus-Venus square and this week’s Pluto-Venus alignment. As with all of our challenges related to the ongoing Pluto-Uranus square, we usually experience some unexpected events that are ultimately intended to empower us and to liberate us from the fears and structures that have restricted our progress.

Pluto, especially, has the ability to clear away the old so that the new can be built. I’m not exactly sure yet why my email world needed to be cleared out last week, but I definitely had to start over with a blank slate (or in this case, with an empty inbox).

My thanks to everyone who wrote me with similar stories or sympathy! One thing I can say, the experience gave me a stronger sense of the community that this Journal has established, for which I am very grateful.

And perhaps, since this is a Venus transit, the underlying purposes do have to do with heart-related themes of relationship, values and gratitude…

AS A MATTER of fact, Venus and Juno aspects seem to be a repeating theme this week. Venus, as you no doubt know, is the goddess of love — and Juno, as wife of Zeus, represents marriage and partnership.

Those two are lining up with Pluto in Capricorn this week. This alignment provides the energy for us to restructure certain relationships, especially those that have become restrictive or do not have a solid foundation in honesty and integrity.

At the same time, Saturn is sextile Venus, Juno and Pluto, providing the opportunities to bring greater stability and intimacy into those relationships that are truly supportive of both parties involved.

BY NEXT WEEKEND, a whole new world opens up. First, however, the Sun and Mercury align in late degrees of Capricorn on Friday to help focus our attention on our ultimate goals and purposes. This alignment also provides the discipline to stay on course with whatever we have chosen to do.

But we will need to be flexible with how it all unfolds, because Mercury steps into Aquarius late Friday and the Sun follows right behind on Saturday. With this shift of two planets from a practical earth sign to a futuristic air sign, our thinking may change abruptly. The ideas and perspectives that we brought to recent decisions may suddenly seem boring and too conservative, and we may decide to scrap existing plans and start over.

NEXT SUNDAY continues the theme of changing circumstances, requiring a fair amount of flexibility on everyone’s part. Uranus and Mars form a semisquare, indicating the potential for disagreements about what should be done and when. Everyone has their own unique idea, it seems, and very few are willing to really listen to the input from others.

Which, of course, ties back in with the Pluto-Venus-Juno alignment for the week — and the potential for revitalizing relationships that have become stagnant. If we can remain flexible and openminded, while still expressing our own needs clearly, new solutions may be found for many existing problems.

Blessings,

Pam
