This weekend, practice the big “C” (Compassion) starting with yourself! When we chill out and take it easy on ourselves we can take it easy on each other and they, in turn, will respond in kind! The New Moon in Aquarius on Saturday offers us the opportunity to untangle and taking it all so personally and the beginning of seeing life events as just that…..events that happen and we go on……

Just be careful not to get too overwhelmed with business and too much work this weekend. The Mercury/Mars conjunction square Jupiter with Venus square Saturn indicates the challenge to balance relaxation with duty.

Hello friends. It’s definitely a real “change in the weather” at the moment, and it’s quite refreshing. Currently ALL planets are in direct motion and it’s feeling like a real “fire in the belly,” energetically. About time!

Speaking of that, if you are still finding yourself dragging a bit, not to worry. We have been processing and moving through SO much material from various sectors of our lives, it’s been quite tiring and intense. This month (especially until around 2/23) you will have some time to catch up. There is still plenty of high frequency, supportive energy afoot to support inner exploration and guidance around changes we have recently made, and those that may still be on their way. With more continued solar flare and other cosmic shifting from deep space; grounding and centering will continue to be important, especially with those that identify as empathic and/or highly sensitive. More shifting has recently occurred with the movement of Mars into Pisces, and Venus into Aquarius; so expect some different energies in the areas of love, desire, action, and the way we manage conflict.

HeavenAndEarth – February Alignments

Mars, the male spiritual warrior had an interesting year in 2012. It held a pivotal point during the Solar Annular Eclipse on 20th May, which triggered the healing of past misaligned energies of the male warrior. (See our report on the Alaska Journey for the May Eclipse).

Then at the Total Solar Eclipse on 13th November, Mars was conjunct the Galactic Centre, flanked on either side by Pluto and Juno, who together were holding the male warrior in right relationship with his spiritual will, the true source of his power and integrity of action. This Eclipse was the moment when the male warrior could bring to Earth the highest qualities of his spiritual power. (See our report on the Hawaii Journey for the November Eclipse).

At Winter Solstice, the Sun emerged from the Galactic Equator, which the Mayans perceived as the womb of Creation.  At exactly 30 degrees – one zodiac sign – further on from where it had been at the November Eclipse, Mars brought the spiritual power from the Galactic Centre, as an offering to Mother Earth, in alignment with the true needs of the planet. Mahala – Mahalas Astrology Report For February 2013

February brings the potential for a gentler heart-centered month, which is due to a prevailing watery Pisces theme throughout this period.   Mars and Mercury both enter Pisces during the first week, followed by the Sun and Venus later in the month.  Neptune, which rules Pisces, will make alignments with all of these planets. There will also be three planetary stations that include Ceres and Saturn, with Mercury turning retrograde in the last week.

We begin the month still under the January Capricorn lunation period, which brought a mental focus of structure, organization and analysis. In this last week, we are in a finishing up and evaluating phase. With all the water energy, we are also taking stock of our feelings and how best to work with them.

On February 4, Ceres in Gemini turns direct.  The urge to take care of oneself or a loved one is strong at this time.  Mars also aligns with Neptune today, which suggests playing a savior or victim type of role.  This combination can also result in deceptive actions or a passive-aggressive type of behavior.  On a higher level, this energy can also be used to do healing work or in selfless service.

Mahala – Mahalas Astrology – Planet Alert February 2013

January was very challenging for many people. What a month that was with all the flu and colds that were going around and more stuff from the past coming up to be looked at and released. We were moving through the sign of Capricorn which is ruled by Saturn, and Saturn is in the sign of Scorpio. This means there was the interchange between those two planets. Saturn rules karma and old stuff, and Pluto rules transformation. The energy felt very heavy last month, at least to me.

Now the sun is moving through the sign of Aquarius, which is ruled by Uranus. This is the planet of change, and Uranus is in the sign of Aries which means this month will bring us some kind of new beginning. We are getting closer to the Spring Equinox in March. This is when the Sun moves into the sign of Aries and we will start the astrological New Year. I am really looking forward to spring. I can hardly wait until the flowers start blooming.

Happy New Year! No, I am not being remiss and I am aware that this is February, but with over a billion souls on the planet celebrating the New Year this month, it seems prudent to see February in terms of new beginnings!

February’s New Moon on the 10th marks the Chinese New Year (and the New Year for many other cultures as well). This will mark the beginning of the year of the Black Water Snake which suggests a years of inner focus and tapping into both the wisdom and the intuition within in order to guide us forwards.

2013 has begun on a fairly quiet note energetically, many are still feeling quite beleaguered after the energetic shifts of 2012, yet at the same time, there is a growing sense of ‘freshness’ and exuberance as each of us begins to fully re-centre and focus on living consciously and vibrantly in the present moment, and this is our true gift and blessing. Of course, we cannot forget that we live in the everyday world and have responsibilities to meet and commitments to fulfil, but when fully awakened in the present moment, we step beyond the chatter of the mind and connect more consciously to the peace and joy of what truly lies within us; we stop chasing and start being.

Irma Kaye Sawyer - Full Moon in Leo, 1.26.13 ~ Party on in Sacred Purpose

Hello friends. Well I’m pretty excited about this Full Moon. The Leo moon is associated with fun, magnetism, creativity and celebration. Physically it rules the Heart. Leo’s ruling planet is the Sun, which gives a Leo moon a unique flair; as it seems to represent a cosmic union of the yin/yang and divine masculine/feminine. I am honoring the evening in fine style by going to a rock show with some good friends. I know I’m not the only one who’s 2013 has started out with more than a tad bit of intensity. A Full Moon all about fun and friends sounds like some excellent medicine right about now. Also, the Sun is in Aquarius which is also a social sign that enjoys communicating and sharing ideas with others. Aquarius is also about brother/sisterhood and the bigger, cosmic picture. Spiritually this is a powerful time to not only play and enjoy but be open to spiritual illumination and creativity. I can tell already in this powerful Year of the Snake, we are going to need to pace ourselves and enjoy the recreation and high vibes when they are available.

Tuning into this moon it feels VERY bright to me, shining nearly as bright as the Sun. This tells me it is going to be exceptionally powerful and illuminating. The energies for the past two weeks especially have been rather intense, and many people have been feeling a bit dragged out, especially on a physical level. I feel these Lunar energies will bring in a revitalizing quality, especially when utilized in an intentional manner, and also a renewed faith.

WE ARE PASSING through another “eye of the needle” with last week’s Uranus-Venus square and this week’s Pluto-Venus alignment. As with all of our challenges related to the ongoing Pluto-Uranus square, we usually experience some unexpected events that are ultimately intended to empower us and to liberate us from the fears and structures that have restricted our progress.

Pluto, especially, has the ability to clear away the old so that the new can be built. I’m not exactly sure yet why my email world needed to be cleared out last week, but I definitely had to start over with a blank slate (or in this case, with an empty inbox).

My thanks to everyone who wrote me with similar stories or sympathy! One thing I can say, the experience gave me a stronger sense of the community that this Journal has established, for which I am very grateful.

2013 Astrology: The Jupiter Yod

One of the things being discussed in the astrologic circles now is and alignment called the Finger of God or a Yod. It is when two or more planets are at 60 degrees apart from each other and there is a planet opposite them, at 150 degrees from the first two. It creates a narrow triangle (or finger) pointing at the opposite planet. I think of it like a Vogel cut crystal / healing crystal. The point receives an energetic push from the other end. The New Year Chart has the first “Jupiter Yod” with Saturn 60 degrees away from both Pluto and the Sun. And Jupiter is 150 degrees from them both. Jupiter is still retrograde, restraining and internalizing the energy. More about this later.

Did you notice some pretty crazy intense stuff this week? On January 6th the Moon joined Saturn, and Mercury joined Pluto. All four pointed at Jupiter (still retrograde). That is big build up of pressure (that I have certainly felt). A lot of Shadowland (negative) thoughts (Mercury and Pluto) pushing for expansive release.  The other energy push was from Saturn (limitations, structure) and the Moon (emotions and the past). They are in Scorpio which is all about extreme emotional expression. A potent cocktail indeed!

Happy New Year! January looks set to be a month of re-focusing and re-alignment as we connect to a growing sense of stillness, both within and without. After a somewhat rambunctious 2012, January may feel un-eerily quiet, but this quiet should be celebrated as it allows each of us to come back to centre and re-connect to our essence.

Although the path of evolution and the journey of awakening continue in earnest, it is hard to deny the sense that everything has changed; nothing feels quite the same as it once did. It is as though our eyes have been opened that little bit more along with our hearts and souls, and this shift is enabling each and every one of us to feel more connected to the Whole: to our selves, to each other, to the Earth...
